I suggested to a friend that he should rent here as I've lived here for five years and haven't had any complaints. My friend came by and looked the vacancies over, liked what he saw, liked the manager and was just about to rent - and then he found this website. After reading the numerous negative reviews, which, oddly enough, appear to be produced by someone with the same limited command of english all I can say is if YOU had problems with Greg while staying here it says a LOT more about you than him. He practically lives here, six, seven days a week you'll see him putting around in work clothes at all hours of the day. There's maintnance people who live here so that there's always someone around to take a call and unstop a toilet or adjust your heat. One review said the thermostat was "locked" Yes, genius, it is. They have steam heat in radiators here so there is NO thermostat to lock. It's Utah, occasionally the temp drops to the teens and, yeah, it may take a few hours for the steam heat to catch up. Put on a sweater and have a cup of tea while you contemplate all of the great things in your life. Such as where you live - these are charming, well maintained older apartments. Wooden floors, tiled bathrooms, appliances that are either new or very close to it, gardens in all directions -- and this year vegetables are mixed in with the flowers...and then there's the whole "view" thing. This is such a great location, minutes from downtown, minutes from school, minutes from the grocery store, just not that far from any amenities a typical urban city dweller needs. Great location. Period. No, if you're on here whining about how you lost your deposit the least you could do is tell the other half of the story - such as how you most likely ruined something making your native dishes required a few inches of carbon in the oven or how your dog chewed off everything he could fit his little bored jaws around. Greg is a nice guy. I've rented for my entire adult life and he's easily the easiest landlord I've ever worked with. He answers his phone, lives locally - none of that absentee landlord stuff here and plays it very, very straight. I've never had an unauthorized visit - and, yeah, I have cameras, I've never seen anyone naked in the basement out of the hundreds of times I've tromped down the stairs to wash clothes (oh, the price of washers just went DOWN a quarter - tell me when was the last time you saw that happen?) and the oncall staff has a few renters on it -- so what? They know what they're doing and they're neighbors in what is all in all a tidy, well maintained little oasis of community in a rather drab and humorless town. No, I stand by what I said about negative reviews saying as much about the reviewer as the subject itself. I knew at least one of the posters, probably two. I'm not surprised by what they wrote and am sure they're busy making trouble for their new landlords wherever that might be. Some folks are just not happy no matter what. |
