Overpriced and poor customer service
Review Date: 8/20/2009 Reviewer: Anonymous
I have lived at Irving Schoolhouse for over a year. I have generally enjoyed living here, but there have been some major issues that I would make any potential renter aware of up front: During the first 6 months of my lease, the hot tub was out of service and they were unwilling to repair it in any urgent capacity. They finally did so after the first month into the summer - it's working great now but it was very frustrating to pay such a premium for a place and have one of the major features out of service for that long. After a year of living here, I began to have issues with my apartment unit that required the help of maintenance. My ceiling was leaking water in my bathroom all over my sink and bathtub. Over the next 2 months, Irving Schoolhouse did as little as possible to resolve this issue. The water was rusty from the old pipes, so it was staining my entire bathroom orange/rust color. They came to my apartment a few times to try and fix the issue, but they were unable to figure out what the problem was. After 2 months of trying to get them to fix my leaking ceiling and ruined bathtub (it's stained with disgusting rust water), they proceeded to simply ignore the issue and try and make me live with it. On top of it all, they put a note on my door indicating that I needed to pay a late fee for paying my rent a day late, instead of a note apologizing for the terrible situation and waving the fee. They were completely unwilling to do so. I would recommend these apartments on the whole, but know that you will be paying a premium to live here (they are definitely overpriced) and that if anything goes wrong with your unit (which was built in the early 1900's), you're pretty much out of luck. |
